IGT Signs Multi-Year Deal with FanDuel Sportsbooks
Major retail sports betting deal
International Game Technology (IGT) has announced a major sports betting deal with the FanDuel Group. Based on the new agreement, IGT use its PlaySports platform to power FanDuel’s US retail sportsbooks through September 2024. This deal applies to both new and existing sportsbooks alike.
Along with sports betting, the new multi-year deal also covers casino games. FanDuel will use IGT’s PlayCasino games in states where it has online casino offerings. The deal builds on an existing technology partnership between the two firms that currently services nine states in the US.
FanDuel US sportsbook partner
CEO of FanDuel Group Matt King said that the PlaySports platform has been an integral part of the expansion for FanDuel sportsbooks in the US. The company looks to IGT to help with further expansion in the retail sector across the nation. King said further: “IGT’s PlaySports platform enables us to create an intuitive, technologically driven customer experience at our world-class retail sportsbooks for our customers.”
With PlayCasino, FanDuel will be able to provide mobile casino entertainment to its existing markets as well as new areas as they expand. The online casino games platform includes such titles as Red Hot Tamales! and Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin that FanDuel already offers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The brand will also gain access to additional blackjack, roulette, and slot titles with the new agreement.
IGT and the FanDuel Group have been working together since 2018. In just two years, the companies have been able to achieve significant milestones. FanDuel launched retail sportsbooks in eight states including New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, and Mississippi. The two launched online sports betting products in five states.
The retail sportsbooks utilize IGT PlaySports self-service kiosks; over 200 such kiosks have been installed across the United States. The partnership has also resulted in the largest volume retail sportsbook in the US, found at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
Busy summer for FanDuel
This summer has been a busy one for FanDuel. Not only has the company secured a deal with IGT, but it has also been branching out further with additional sports betting and casino deals. In mid-June, the operator signed a multi-year deal with the Denver Broncos, the first in the US between an NFL team and a sportsbook.
In late June, FanDuel announced the launch of its casino app in Pennsylvania. This was the first standalone casino app for the company; sportsbook app users could easily use their current account details to log in the casino.
